At Sprout Meadows, our Group Workshops offer an engaging hands-on experience where participants build confidence, leadership skills, communication, and respect for animals while learning about horses and life on a working farm.
Designed for youth groups, schools, community organizations, corporate teams, and other groups, each workshop combines horsemanship, riding, agriculture, and teamwork in a fun, welcoming environment.

Building Confidence Through Horses Working with horses teaches valuable life skills that extend well beyond the arena.
What to Expect
Welcome & Farm Safety Your visit begins with introductions and a farm safety orientation. Participants will learn how to safely work around horses and other farm animals while becoming familiar with the day's activities.
Understanding Horse Behaviour & Body Language Before working with the horses, participants learn how horses communicate through: Ear position Facial expressions Body posture Movement Herd behaviour Personal space
Understanding horse behaviour helps build confidence while teaching safe and respectful interactions.
Grooming & Tacking Up Working alongside our coaches, participants will learn: Proper grooming techniques The purpose of grooming tools Picking out hooves safely Leading a horse Saddling and bridling Basic horse care and daily management This hands-on session develops responsibility while preparing each horse for the riding lesson.
Riding Lesson Participants enjoy a riding lesson suited to their experience level. Lessons may include: Mounting and dismounting Balance Steering Stopping Walking Trotting (when appropriate) Confidence-building exercises and games Whether it's a first ride or participants have previous experience, our instructors provide a safe, encouraging learning environment.
Farm Tour Experience life on a working farm. Participants will meet many of the animals that call Sprout Meadows home, including: Jersey cows Our friendly farm pig Chickens Broodmares Foals (season permitting) Berry picking (season permitting) We'll also discuss: Daily farm routines Animal care and welfare Responsible animal ownership Sustainable agriculture Careers in agriculture and the equine industry
Participants develop: Confidence Leadership Communication Teamwork Responsibility Respect for animals and the land Patience Problem-solving skills Trust and relationship building
